Transportation Policy

At AW Horse Transport, the safety and well-being of your horse is our top priority. Please review the following policies carefully before booking transportation services.

Booking & Payment

• A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve your spot.
• The remaining balance is due upon delivery, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Cancellations

• Deposits are non-refundable if cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the scheduled trip.
• If cancellation occurs within 48 hours and AW Horse Transportation is able to fill the vacated spot, the deposit may be credited toward a
future trip at our discretion.
• Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance may be eligible for a full deposit credit, depending on circumstances.

Health & Documentation Requirements

• Horses must be healthy, sound, and fit for travel.
• Required health documentation (including negative Coggins and health certificate, when applicable) must be provided prior to transport.
• AW Horse Hauling reserves the right to refuse transport of any horse deemed unsafe to travel.

Behaviour & Handling

• Horses must be halter-broke and manageable for safe loading and unloading.
• Any know behavioral issues (kicking, biting, loading problems, etc. must be disclosed at booking.

Scheduling & Delays

• Pickup and delivery times are estimated and may vary due to weather, traffic, mechanical issues, or horse-related needs.
• AW Horse Transport is not responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control but will communicate updates as promptly as possible.

Emergency Care

• In the event of illness during transport, AW Horse Transport is authorized to seek veterinary care if the owner or emergency contact cannot be reached.
• All veterinary expenses incurred are the responsibility of the owner.

Liability

• While every precaution is taken to ensure safe transport, AW Horse Transport is not responsible for injury, illness, loss, or death resulting from conditions beyond our control.
• Owners are encouraged to carry equine mortality and major medical insurance.

Weather & Route Changes

• AW Horse Transport reserves the right to delay or alter routes due to unsafe weather or road conditions.
• Safety will always take priority over scheduling.

Canada / United States Border Crossing Policy

Documentation & Compliance

Horses crossing the Canada / United States border must meet all USDA, CFIA, and border inspection requirements at the time of travel. Required documentation may include but is not limited to:

• A valid negative Coggins.
International health certificate.
• Import / export permits.
• Proof of ownership or bill of sale.

It is the owner's responsibility to ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and current prior to departure.

Inspection & Delays

• Border inspection times are not guaranteed and may result in delays beyond AW Horse Transport's control.
• AW Horse Transport is not responsible for delays, denied entry, or additional costs resulting from border inspections or documentation issues.

Fees & Additional Costs

• Fees related to border crossings - such as inspections, quarantine, veterinary exams, permits, or required layovers - are the responsibility of the owner.
• When needed to keep the trip moving, AW Horse Transport may cover required border-related fees on the owner's behalf.
• Any fees advanced by AW Horse Transport will be added to the final invoice and reimbursed by the owner upon delivery, along with the remaining transport balance.
• We will make every effort to communicate any additional costs as they arise and keep owners informed throughout the process.

Refusal of Entry

• If a horse is denied entry at the border for any reason, the owner is responsible for all costs associated with return transport, care, or holding.
• Deposits and transport fees are non-refundable in the event of a border refusal.

Acceptance of Policy

By booking with AW Horse Transport, you acknowledge and agree to all policies outlined above.
